Our Mission

Our mission as an Outer Banks social entrepreneurship is to make yoga available to all levels. Village Yoga’s mission is to support and lead a conscious community while maintaining a destination for health based tourism.

We believe in yoga as a powerful tool for positive growth throughout every stage of life. We value the practice of yoga within all populations. To support and progress the Outer Banks yoga community we offer an array of studio classes, training, workshops, and retreats within our yoga studio and globally. We value creativity, authenticity, and fun with a passion for sharing yoga!

Where We Donate

We value connection to our community! We regularly volunteer together and give back 1% of our profits to 3 main foundations we donate to; Surfrider Foundation – Outer Banks Chapter, Homes of Hope Orphanages – India, and The Mariah Violet Moore “What is Love?” Scholarship Foundation.

Homes of Hope Orphanage India

Homes of Hope India, a 501c3 charity, works in cooperation with Salesian, Carmelite, and Franciscan Clarist Sisters in orphanages, schools, and community empowerment centers throughout India.

Homes of Hope offers rescued girls home for life, the opportunity for a better future, and the chance to break the cycle of extreme poverty. Homes of Hope builds orphanages…and saves lives. (Home of Hope is currently building their 16th orphanage!)

  • Village Yoga has co-led retreats to the original orphanage in Kochi in 2015, 2016, and 2017. We will return again in January 2024. Learn more about our upcoming retreat here.

Mariah Violet Moore “What is Love?” Scholarship Foundation

Recipients are chosen for their essay on “What love means to them” rather than academics. This scholarship was started in February 2019 after the loss of Mariah Moore, who was known for her generous, kind heart, and contagious smile.

Surfrider Foundation

The Surfrider Foundation is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches for all people through conservation, activism, research, and education.

Founded in 1984, Surfrider’s most important coastal environmental work is carried out by many chapters located along the East, West, Gulf, Puerto Rican, and Hawaiian coasts. Surfrider now has over 30,000 members in the USA; in addition, International Surfrider chapters and affiliates have been established in the countries of Japan, Brazil, Australia, France, and Spain.

We’ve teamed up with the Surfrider Foundation Outer Banks Chapter and the Adopt-A-Beach program! Our beach is Lillian Street Beach Access, around MP 3.5 in Kitty Hawk. May through October we hold our Stretch and Sweep, a free yoga class followed by a beach clean, monthly. November through April, we meet every other month for a beach clean.
