A GENTLE YOGA Retreat ON THE OUTER BANKS

Join us for a three night, Gentle Yoga Getaway in the heart of Duck, NC. The focus on this retreat is to truly unwind and relax! Throughout your retreat, six gentle and restorative yoga classes will be offered, including Village Yoga’s Hot Stone + Restorative Bliss class.

All classes are optional, and guided meditations and pranayama will always be included in each class.  Breakfasts and Dinners will be fully catered with nourishing Ayurvedic Foods with the opportunity to explore the Outer Banks and delicious local restaurants for lunch and during the day!

This retreat is appropriate for people of all ages and backgrounds. We intend to make sure each class is 100% accessible to all body types. In the past, people have not only enjoyed our retreats for the yoga classes and relaxing Outer Banks setting, but also for the connections built between retreat participants. Feel free to sign up with a friend, or come solo, and make a new group of friends!

We strive on each of our retreats to provide a welcoming and inclusive space where you’ll surely fall into relaxation!

What the yoga Retreat includes:

  • 6 Nourishing Ayurvedic Meals prepared in house
  • 3 nights, 4 days accommodations in the heart of Duck
    • Walking distance to Village Yoga and all of our favorite spots
  • Hot Stones + Restorative Yoga Bliss – Think spa retreat meets your yoga practice
  • Daily Gentle Yoga, Meditation, and Pranayama (breathwork) classes
    • Morning and evening classes are offered so that retreat participants can choose what works best for them
  • Free time to explore the OBX or relax around the house!

Retreat Schedule

The retreat will begin at 4:00 pm on Wednesday and end at 12:00 pm on Saturday Morning with modified schedules.

Cancellation Policy:

In the event of cancellation, the following policies apply:

60 days or more prior to the program: Your payment can be refunded for a $250 administration fee, or transferred to another Village Yoga program at no cost.

59-31 days prior to the program: Payments are not refundable, but are transferable (less $250 administration fee) to another Village Yoga program.

15-30 days prior to the program: Payments are not refundable, but are transferable (less $250 administration fee) to another Village Yoga program.

14-2 days prior to retreat: Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.


Withdrawals from active events or workshops will result in the loss of all fees paid. Active withdrawal applies to any cancellation made within 48 hours of the event/workshop start time. Withdrawals from active training will result in the loss of all fees paid.

FAQs

What about COVID?

Space in the retreat house will be limited, ensuring that there is plenty of space for everyone. We will not be requiring masks at this time, but you are welcome to wear them if you prefer. The house will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. We ask that you please do not enter the retreat house if you are not feeling well.

Are all the yoga classes required?

All participation is optional to the students, but encouraged for an optimal experience!

What kind of food will we be eating (I have an allergy)?

Our chef will be preparing a variety of vegetarian meals. We will use as locally and organically sourced foods as possible. If you have any dietary allergies, please let us know upon booking. We will try to accommodate allergies as best we can, extra costs may occur.

How far away is the beach?

The beach is about a five to ten minute walk, depending on your own pace!

Do we have free time?

Yes, there will be plenty of free time! Feel free to venture around the Outer Banks, stroll the boardwalk or beach, schedule bodywork, read in the common areas of the house, enjoy the hot tub, or simply nap- it’s your time to relax and unwind!

Is my family allowed to come stay in the house with me?

Due to the limited space available, only paying retreat attendees are allowed to stay in the house. If family wishes to come to the Outer Banks during your retreat, we can refer them to great airBNBs.

Can I bring my pets?

No pets are allowed to come to the retreat.

Will there be alcohol?

Alcohol will not be provided, nor permitted in the retreat house.

I’m new to yoga, will I be able to participate in the yoga classes?

Yes, all yoga classes are designed for all levels of practitioners to enjoy and participate.

What if I want to share a single room with a friend/significant other?

We are definitely able to accommodate that request! Email us to let us know which room you’d like and we can let you know the pricing options.

What is the closest airport?

Norfolk International Airport (ORF). About 1.5 hours from Duck.

How do I get to the OBX?

Coming from the North: Follow I-95 South to Richmond, VA. Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. Take I-64 or I-664 to Chesapeake, Va. From I-64, take Exit 291B to Route 168, the Chesapeake Expressway.* Once in North Carolina, Route 168 turns into US-158 East. Follow this road to The Outer Banks. *Chesapeake Expressway is a toll-road with new rates that took effect May 1, 2011. EZPass and SmartTag accepted.

Coming from the South: Take I-95 to Rocky Mount, NC. Take US-64 East toward Rocky Mount. Follow US-64 east through Williamston and Plymouth, NC. From Plymouth, NC keep going east to Roan

Do I have to come for the entire retreat?

You can stay for as long as you like, although we recommend staying the entire time to get the full experience. Payment plans are not available for partial participation.

I can’t afford the retreat, but I really want to come! Are there any financial aid opportunities?

Absolutely! We understand that retreat can be expensive, we offer payment plans, as well as work-trade positions to make our retreat more affordable. If a work trade or payment plan interests you, contact us as soon as possible before these positions fill up!
