What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for treating the body, mind, emotions and spirit; relieving stress and pain, inducing relaxation, accelerating natural healing, releasing emotional blockages, and restoring balance to its energy centers (chakras). It is administered by channeling the Universal Life Force Energy through the practitioner’s laying on of hands (or hovering if preferred), which is then transferred to the client. If one’s “life force energy” is low, or blocked, then one is more likely to get sick or feel stress; if it is high and in balance, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
“After decades of often disputed validity, the effectiveness of Reiki, a holistic energy treatment, is gaining new respect within the medical community. Not only are highly reputable medical facilities throughout the U.S. offering patients alternative healing programs such as Reiki, those facilities are analyzing the benefits of their programs and are submitting them for review and compilation. The results of these Reiki research studies are nothing short of remarkable. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady. It works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve their associated side effects and help promote recovery.” Resource: uclahealth.org
